About Appleford 75th Steam Rally 2025
In 2025 it will be 75 years since Arthur Napper and Miles Chetwynd-Stapylton D.F.C had a race with their traction engines, which unbeknown to them at the time would be a major part in forming the steam preservation movement.
We are hosting a celebration event which will take place in Appleford OX14 4PH on the weekend of 21st and 22nd June 2025.
It is intended to invite every engine and exhibit that attended an Appleford rally between 1950 and 1971 and have a traditional engine rally as they were in the early days.
There will be traditional ring events, photographic opportunities, photographic displays and generally lots of steam nostalgia. There will also be a 1950’s themed dress throughout the weekend.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to be a part of this special anniversary event.
We would also love to see any exhibits that attended Appleford between the years 1950 and 1971.
There will be a historic photographic display of Appleford rallies throughout the years, therefore we are asking if anyone has anything they would like to contribute to this to please send to this email or post to this address.
