About Finzean Bucket Mill Open Day, National Mills Weekend
As part of National Mills Weekend, Birse Community Trust are opening Finzean Bucket Mill for guided tours. The Bucket Mill is believed to be the only surviving water-powered mill making wooden buckets in the UK.
The Bucket Mill was developed by Peter Brown in 1853 on the site of a former sawmill and at its peak could produce 500 buckets a week.
The mill is no longer operating but is still intact with all the pulleys, belts, and wheels in place.
