About Hillhead Sports Club Open Day
Hillhead Sports Club is a multi-sports club situated in the west end of Glasgow.
We are holding an “Open Day” on Sunday, 15th September to showcase the facilities we have to offer and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening of our grounds at Hughenden Road (free parking on Sundays).
There will be supervised “taster sessions” available for rugby, tennis, cricket, shinty and frisbee for children of all ages, together with games and a kiddies’ corner (including face painting) for the younger children. If you are a rugby fan you will see some of the Glasgow Warriors team around the grounds.
Make it Glasgow, the organisation which manufactures the ceramic scales to decorate “Bella”, the large Serpent being created that looks over Stockingfield Bridge at Maryhill, will be doing demonstrations on how they prepare the ceramic scales.
Our fabulous Cafe Source Too restaurant will be available for bookings (Café Source Too). Their patio area, where you can sit and have both food and a drink, overlooks the grounds and all the various activities taking place on the day. The Sports Bar will be open and there will be stalls selling a variety of goods not to mention a BBQ and coffees and teas available both indoors and out.
There will be music and a roving mike generating a truly carnival atmosphere.
