About The Kyan Quartet

We thank the Tunnell Trust for sponsoring this young ensemble, who will explore the evolution of the string quartet over four centuries.

The C19^th is represented by Schubert, the C20^th by Shostakovich and Bartók; two recent works from America revel in the thrilling timbral expressiveness of plucking and bowing, before the recital ends with the last of Haydn’s seminal Opus 76 quartets from 1797.
