Come and Sing Faure Requiem!
Yateley Choral Society welcome you to join us for a workshop and informal performance of the ever-popular Fauré Requiem at St Swithun’s Church on 22nd February.
The workshop will be led by YCS’s inspirational Musical Director James Casselton.
As a bonus for those of you familiar with the work, we will be covering the solo parts as part of the workshop and performance, giving everyone the opportunity to become a soloist for a day!
We will also be workshopping a smaller complementary work, which we will announce nearer the time.
The workshop will run from 10:30 until 15:00 with the performance starting at 16:00 and we would welcome your friends and family to join us for the performance. There is level access to St Swithun’s Church and ample free parking onsite.
Registration will start at 10am with coffee and tea and there will be tea and cakes in the afternoon break. Please bring your own cup/mug if possible. There are a number of local shops in walking distance to get some lunch and also some friendly local pubs, but you are welcome to bring your own lunch.
Tickets for the workshop are £20 (or £22 including score hire) per singer; audience tickets for the performance are £10.
We will be using the Oxford University Press (edited by John Rutter) score, and copies will be available to borrow for £2. Other versions maybe compatible but they must have bar numbers.
Small donation towards tea, coffee and cakes much appreciated.
